How to Replace the Ignition Key on the Saab 900

How to Replace the Ignition Key on a Saab XC90
It could be time to replace your SAAB key fob if you are having difficulty turning the lock barrel. The process is fairly simple and you don't need to visit a dealer. You can do it at home, using a couple of simple tools.
You'll first need to prepare the new keys. Before you begin, disable the anti-theft feature by placing blocks under the rear wheels and activating your handbrake. Next, put the key in the ignition and turn it to the ON position, which activates the accessories but it doesn't start the engine. Repeat this five times, then turn off the key in the "on" position.
